What
is FTTx?

FTTx stands for Fiber to the x or fiber in the
loop is a generic term for any broadband network architecture using optical
fiber to provide all or part of the local loop used for last mile
telecommunications.

FTTX is a generalization for several
configurations of fiber deployment, arranged into two groups: FTTP/FTTH/FTTB
and FTTC/FTTN.

Network

FTTP

FTTP – Fiber to the Premises. Optical fiber is
used for an optical distribution network (ODN) from the central office all the
way to the premises occupied by the subscriber. Since the optical fiber cable
can provide a higher bandwidth than copper cable over the last kilometer,
operators usually use FTTP to provide voice, video and data services.

FTTH

FTTH – Fiber to the Home. Fiber reaches the boundary of the living space, such as a box on the outside wall of a home. Passive optical networks and point-to-point Ethernet are architectures that are capable of delivering triple-play services over FTTH networks directly from an operator’s central office.

FTTB

FTTB – Fiber to the Building. It means the fiber
is terminated at the building. This is typically done for buildings with
multiple units, where individual units may be serviced differently. FTTB
deployments are often used to connect apartment blocks or other large
buildings.

FTTC

FTTC – Fiber to the Curb. In a FTTC deployment,
optical cabling usually terminates within 300 meters of the customer premises.
Fiber cables are installed or utilized along the roadside from the central
office to home or office. Using the FTTC technique, the last connection between
the curb and home or office can use the coaxial cable.

FTTN

FTTN – Fiber to the Node. The optical fiber
terminates in a cabinet which may be as much as a few miles from the customer
premises. And the final connection from street cabinet to customer premises
usually uses copper.

FTTX
Fiber to Home Triple Play application

BAUDCOM can provide FTTX triple play application
total solution. The Triple play application can support data, CATV, VOIP and
CATV service, which is ideal FTTX application solution. BAUDCOM provide OLTtriple play ONU, CATV transmitter, FWDM, splitter, fiber cable.
