Fiber Access Terminal Box

The optical fiber terminal box is the terminal
connector of an optical cable. One end is an optical cable and the other end is
a pigtail. It is equivalent to a device that splits an optical cable into a
single optical fiber. The user optical cable terminal box installed on the
wall, its function is to provide fusion splicing of optical fibers, splicing of
optical fiber and pigtail, and handover of optical connector. It also provides
mechanical protection and environmental protection for the optical fiber and
its components, and allows proper inspections to maintain the highest standards
of optical fiber management.

In actual work, the terminal box can be used as
an indoor joint box, but the joint box is rarely used as a terminal box, and
the purpose is different.

The transfer box can be divided into an optical cable transfer box and a cable
transfer box. Their functions are used for the front-end wiring of the user.

2. The connection box generally refers to the optical cable connection
box, also called the optical cable connector box. In some places, especially
the broadcasting system, it is also called the optical connection package, and
its function is to protect the optical cable connector from external damage.
The distribution frame is also divided into optical cable distribution frame
and cable distribution frame, which also functions like a transfer box, but it
is used in the operator’s computer room.

Why
do we need fiber access terminal box

1.
Provide a protective connection between the optical cable and the wiring
pigtail.

2.
Insulate the metal components of the optical cable from the cable end shell,
and can be easily lead to ground.

3.
Provide space for the placement of the optical cable terminal and storage of
the remaining optical fiber to facilitate installation and operation.

4.
The box body with sufficient impact strength is fixed, which is convenient for
installation in different occasions.

5. You can choose multiple installation methods such as wall-mounted
installation or directly placed in the channel.

As
the terminal equipment of the optical cable line, the optical fiber terminal
box should have 4 basic functions.

Fixed function. After the fiber optic cable enters the rack, its
outer sheath and reinforcing core should be mechanically fixed, ground wire
protection components should be installed, end protection treatment should be
carried out, and the optical fiber should be grouped and protected.

Welding function. After the optical fiber drawn from the optical
cable is fused with the pigtail cable, the excess optical fiber is coiled and
stored, and the fusion splice is protected.

Allocation function. Connect the connector attached to the pigtail
cable to the adapter, and realize the optical connection with the optical
connector on the other side of the adapter. Adapters and connectors should be
able to be flexibly inserted and removed; the optical path can be freely
deployed and tested.

Storage function. Provide storage for various cross-connected
optical cables between racks, so that they can be placed regularly and neatly.
There should be an appropriate space and method in the fiber terminal box to
make this part of the optical connection line clear, easy to adjust, and meet
the minimum bending radius requirements. With the development of optical fiber
networks, the existing functions of optical fiber terminal boxes can no longer
meet many new requirements. Some manufacturers add some optical fiber network
components such as optical splitters, wavelength division multiplexers and
optical switches directly to the optical fiber terminal box.

Conclusion

Optical fiber terminal boxes are widely used in
local telephone, rural telephone network systems, data, image transmission
systems, CATV cable television series, used for direct connection and branch
connection of indoor optical cables, and play the role of pigtail storage and
protection of joints. The cold-rolled steel plate is made of electrostatic
spraying, and the design structure is reasonable and beautiful. It can fix the
fiber optic cable reinforcing core at the terminal.
